TEDxUofT 2016: EDGE

TEDxUofT 2016: EDGE

The content below was conceptualized and executed by Klara Vanzella Yang for the TEDxUofT 2016 Conference: EDGE.

Stage

The design of the stage backdrop was based on the pattern developed by the team for the 2016 conference. The theme provoked the creation of a piece filled with edges that would make themselves evident through their natural movement generated by the air flow of the venue.

The final backdrop consists of 2000 laser cut polycarbonate pieces held apart from one another with a prefabricated wire. A team of 20 volunteers assisted in the setup of the stage one day before the conference.

name tag

The name tags further explored the theme of the conference (EDGE) by cutting out the pattern from3mm plexiglass, thus maximizing the number of edges on the surface and stimulating the sensation of touch.

T-shirt

These T-shirts were designed for team members and volunteers to use on the day of the conference. Here the 2016 conference's thematic pattern explodes outward, exploring the idea of diffusion, dissemination, in line with the TED slogan "Ideas Worth Spreading".
